The Hong Kong Prize is one of Asia’s premier high school contests, honoring academic achievements and extracurricular participation in Hong Kong high schools. Participants may win both monetary prizes as well as F&B and shopping vouchers at awards ceremonies held throughout Hong Kong. But before submitting any submission they should thoroughly read over all rules and regulations as any violations could disqualify them from winning prizes.
The contest provides students an international stage to showcase their talents and foster creative expression, encouraging engagement within communities as well as building writing portfolios. However, please keep in mind that to win, certain criteria must be fulfilled for entry to be eligible to win this hk prize competition.
This year’s competition theme is Our Changing World and finalists were encouraged to submit works that explore global evolution. Many outstanding submissions were received, impressing judges who noted their creativity. There was also an unprecedented high percentage of Hong Kong artists on the shortlist – almost two thirds being women artists!
At a ceremony held on May 17th, Pakistani artist Sameen Agha won the Grand Prize with her piece A Home Is a Terrible Place to Love made out of red marble and depicting an abandoned home that is decaying away. Numerous Hong Kong-based artists were nominated and some even received accolades in different categories for their works.
Hong Kong filmmakers brought home numerous awards at the 2024 Hong Kong Film Awards, with Benny Chan’s Raging Fire winning best director. Additionally, other winning films included legal drama A Guilty Conscience and crime thriller The Goldfinger.
The Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited and Hong Kong Alliance of Technology and Innovation Award is an annual merit-based research award presented annually by both organizations. Its Charter seeks to promote scientific and standardized management, ensure objectivity and build public recognition of scientific research achievements made in Hong Kong. A Review Committee and Compliance Oversight Team conduct reviews; finally the Board of the Hk Prize makes all decisions regarding award implementation.
