Data SGP refers to any information that allows us to understand the behavior of a system or entity, from an organization’s business model and financial results, all the way down to customer insights and market research. Data sgp helps us make more informed decisions regarding products, customers and markets we serve; typically it is collected and analysed using statistical techniques; it can then be used to enhance understanding of customer base segments or identify problems or opportunities for growth or even predict future behavior.
Data Governance provides us with a framework to effectively collect and store large volumes of data, while at the same time managing it effectively. Data governance refers to a set of practices designed to ensure data complies with laws and regulations while being useful and compliant; its six dimensions include accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness, validity and uniqueness as well as processes governing how it’s stored, accessed leveraged or disposed off.
The SGP Package provides classes, functions and data to enable calculation of student growth percentiles and projections/trajectories using large-scale, longitudinal education assessment data. Quantile regression is used to estimate conditional density associated with each students achievement history before using coefficient matrices as input to calculate student growth percentiles and projections.
Current SGP measures student performance relative to those nationwide with similar prior test scores and grade levels; this includes both high performers as well as those at the top of their scale. It also allows identification of growth needed in order to reach proficiency; SGP utilizes Betebenner’s catch-up/keep-up projections along with other methods.
SGP scores are calculated following each year’s state assessments. The NJDOE links district course roster submission data through SMART with SGP scores assigned to teachers; it is imperative that teachers review and verify accuracy before submitting rosters with supervisors for verification purposes to ensure accurate reporting of data.
In order to create a SGP report, it’s necessary to first select both the student and window of which you would like a growth projection generated. You do this by selecting either from the drop-down menu in the Customize Report Wizard. The report will then present each student’s current Student Growth Projection along with projections for that window and an interactive chart displaying their progression over time. SGP updates regularly so that student projections reflect the most up-to-date data. As such, your current SGP may differ slightly from what was projected when creating the Customize Report Wizard, yet still provide an accurate depiction of their status and progress. Furthermore, their historical SGP trajectories for previous windows can also be viewed using the Previous Window drop-down list within Customize Report Wizard.
